The owners of this newly renovated townhouse struggled with water management. With a basement flooding during heavy rains, and a backyard that was not much more than a mud-pit, they were ready for a renovation.
In partnership with a landscape designer, UNICORN did the buildout for what will surely be the best hangout spot on the block. We created water retention and drainage details throughout the yard, and installed retaining walls that will prevent future problems from the neighboring properties.
The design team chose stunning stone, plants, and finish materials to create a natural and inviting space. From there, we integrated a hanging bench using a steel detail designed in-house, and built it into the new planter wall. With a mix of materials, plants, and craftsmanship, this backyard brings a breath of fresh air to urban living.
