This garden duplex in Cobble Hill was ready for a facelift. UNICORN created a design plan using 3D modeling that allowed the homeowner to walk the space and understand the decisions before construction.
We nearly gutted the interior of the home, installing a new custom kitchen, three new bathrooms, a laundry room, and new floors inside. In the yard, we removed a hazardous tree, and built out a simple and durable bluestone patio to promote healthy drainage in the yard. UNICORN lowered the basement floors to create additional useable space, and installed heated floors to make it comfortable enough for bare feet.
When we started, the home was dark and had a layout that did not work. When we finished, natural and supplemental light created an airy and bright space, and the layout changes allowed the family to live, entertain, and enjoy the space. The finishes create a stunning and timeless aesthetic, and are resilient enough to survive the fun of young children.
