When the building needed to replace the aging roof, and the homeowners needed to remove an existing deck to facilitate that work, UNICORN was brought in for all of it. Together with our industry partners, we removed the existing deck, installed a new SOPREMA roofing system (with a 20 year warranty!), refinished aging stucco, and then undertook the rebuild of a stunning new roof deck.Â
With unrivaled panoramic views, a full day of direct sun, and an outdoor chef’s kitchen, this project had a bit of everything. UNICORN led the design of the space, rendering it in 3D so the homeowner could understand all the details. We executed the build in its entirety, including new composite decking throughout (with a 50 year warranty!), integrated planters & lighting, a brand new custom chef’s kitchen with a fridge, sink, & gas connections, and a turf area for lounging with the little ones. Amenities include a new integrated SONOS system, wi-fi throughout the roof to create an enviable work-from-home space, and hidden irrigation for the stunning pollinators garden. UNICORN also spec’d and sourced appliances, imported a sail-shade system from Italy, and designed the furniture layout.
UNICORN executed a flawless design & build, and created a low-maintenance and stunning hideaway that will serve the family for years to come.
